This season, we embark on a cross-continental dialogue with denim. We believe every pair of jeans is more than just clothing; it's a vessel for culture and a narrative of craftsmanship. That's why we've partnered with master artisans worldwide to weave ancient techniques, deeply rooted in their native soils, into contemporary designs.
Every stitch tells a story. Every piece is an homage.
Japan: Boro Stitching Edition
-
Artisan Location: Kurashiki, Kojima, Okayama Prefecture – renowned as the "Holy Land of Denim."
-
The Craft, Deeper: Boro, from the Japanese word for "rags," is not a symbol of poverty but a philosophy of "mottainai" (too good to waste). In times of scarcity, fabric was given new life through layered patches and repairs. Our collaborating artisans use traditional Sashiko stitching to "repair" our sturdy denim with precise, running stitches. This is not merely decoration; it's the act of weaving time, memory, and emotion into the very fabric of the garment.
-
Collection Highlight: Each repair is unique, creating blue-and-white patterns reminiscent of ancient maps, telling a story of "perfect imperfection."
Mexico: Embroidery Collection
-
Artisan Location: Oaxaca, Mexico, a region famed for its vibrant colors and rich indigenous heritage.
-
The Craft, Deeper: Our partners are a collective of artisans from local craft cooperatives. They draw inspiration from traditional huipil blouses and fantastical Alebrije wood carvings, embroidering mythical creatures, florals, and sun motifs onto denim with brilliantly colored threads. This is more than embroidery; it's wearable art, imbued with the Mexican people's passion for life and reverence for nature.
-
Collection Highlight: Bold color contrasts and intricate, symmetrical patterns make each piece feel like a portable Mexican folk festival.
Italy: Leather Detailing
-
Artisan Location: Florence, Italy, the heart of the Renaissance and the cradle of fine leatherworking.
-
The Craft, Deeper: In a small workshop near the Arno River, third-generation leather artisans employ ancestral vegetable-tanning methods. This ancient process allows the leather to develop a unique, honey-colored patina over time. We entrusted them to handcraft the leather patches, accents, and keychains for our denim. Every hand-burnished edge and precise stitch reflects the Italian reverence for material and detail.
-
Collection Highlight: The warm, evolving luster of the leather complements the raw texture of the denim, developing a personal history unique to you.
USA: Workwear Inspired
-
Artisan Location: Inspired by the industrial heartlands of the American Midwest.
-
The Craft, Deeper: We return to our roots, paying tribute to the American workwear spirit that defined denim's history. We use 13.5oz+ heavyweight selvedge denim, its rugged hand-feel a nod to gold rush miners, transcontinental railroad workers, and post-war rebels. The classic straight or relaxed cuts, paired with durable copper rivets and shank buttons, ensure timeless functionality.
-
Collection Highlight: This is a "blue-collar uniform" built for a lifetime, a modern wardrobe宣言 (declaration) of American ingenuity and grit.
Meet the Makers
We believe that to know the creator is to understand the creation more deeply. That's why every piece includes a unique "Maker's Card." Scan the QR code to see the artisan's portrait, their workshop, the techniques they used, and even a short interview. Let your purchase be a personal connection to a master craftsperson half a world away.
