🌍 Beyond Blue: How Oneso Jeans Love the Planet

🌍 Beyond Blue: How Oneso Jeans Love the Planet

Publicado por LeeEllie en

Let’s get real: Traditional denim production uses significant water. Most jeans require 2,000+ gallons of water per pair during manufacturing. But we didn’t just accept this standard—we worked with sustainability experts to develop practices that reduce environmental impact, from fabric to finish.

Eco-Innovations: Thoughtful Choices, Measurable Impact

Our commitment to sustainability is built into every step of making our jeans:

  • ♻️ Tencel + Recycled Cotton Blend: We use a blend of Tencel™ (made from sustainably harvested eucalyptus) and recycled cotton. Tencel™ requires significantly less water than conventional cotton, and recycled cotton reduces reliance on new raw materials. Together, this blend cuts water use by 60% compared to traditional denim fabrics.
  •  Laser Distressing: Instead of using harsh chemicals or excessive water to create a “lived-in” look, we use precision laser technology. This method etches fades and details without toxic substances, reducing pollution and minimizing resource use.
  • 📦 Compostable Packaging: Your jeans arrive in plant-based packaging that breaks down naturally, avoiding single-use plastic. Even our tags are made from recycled paper, keeping waste out of landfills.

Transparency: See the Journey for Yourself

We believe sustainability should be clear and verifiable. That’s why every Oneso jean has a “Farm-to-Fit” QR code inside the waistband 👆. Scan it to:

  • Trace the origin of your denim, from organic cotton farms (where no harmful pesticides are used) to production facilities.
  • View data on water, energy, and CO₂ savings specific to your pair of jeans.
  • Learn about the ethical manufacturing practices that ensure fair treatment of workers.

Your Role: Extend the Lifecycle

Sustainability is a partnership, and here’s how you can help:
👉 Wash less, wash cold: Jeans stay fresh with air-drying between wears. When washing is needed, cold water reduces energy use ❄️.
👉 Mend when possible: Small rips or tears can be repaired easily—we include free repair kits (thread, patches, needles) with every order 🪡. Extending the life of your jeans reduces waste.
👉 Recycle old denim: Send us your worn-out jeans, and we’ll repurpose them into new materials. As a thank you, you’ll get 15% off your next order ♻️.

Join us in making denim more sustainable—one pair at a time.
