Scissors, needles, and patches—oh my! ✂️🧵
Your favorite jeans finally tore. Don’t panic! Before yo
u retire them, consider repair. Denim repair is an art form, and sometimes the mended spots become the coolest part of the jeans.
Option 1: Visible Mending
Embrace the flaw! Use colorful thread, embroidery floss, or contrasting patches. Japanese "Sashiko" stitching is beautiful and strong. We offer free Sashiko guides on our website!
Option 2: Invisible Repair
If you want it to look "like new," take them to a tailor or use iron-on patches on the inside. Match thread color closely and stitch carefully.
Option 3: Patch It Up
Denim patches (old jeans work great!) can cover holes stylishly. Iron-on first, then stitch edges for durability. Add multiple patches for a DIY look.
Option 4: Professional Help
Some dry cleaners offer denim repair. There are also specialized denim repair services online—send them in, they fix them, you get them back good as new (or better!).
When to Let Go:
If the damage is in high-stress areas (like the crotch) and the surrounding fabric is thinning, repair might not last. But we say try anyway—what’s the worst that happens?
